Etymology edit
From Proto-Armenian *fōl- (“kid, child”), from Proto-Indo-European *pōlo- (“young of an animal”). Cognates include Ancient Greek πῶλος (pôlos, “foal, young of an animal, girl”), Latin pullus (“young of an animal”) and Proto-Germanic *fulô. See also ամուլ (amul), աղիջ (ałiǰ), Aghwan 𐕛𐔴𐔾 (vel).
