Borrowed from Slovak gatky, which was suffixed +‎ -ka from gate, which has its first consonant a stop by reason of being borrowed from Polish gacie, Old Polish gace, inherited from Proto-Slavic *gaťę (“drawers”), see it for more. Alternatively, borrowed from Polish gatki.
