Etymology

edit

צע־ (tse-) +‎ דרשענען (darshenen, to preach). The reflexive component may be due to influence from Slavic; compare Belarusian разгу́тарыцца (razhútarycca), разгавары́цца (razhavarýcca), разгамані́цца (razhamanícca), where none of which possess a variant with the раз- (raz-) suffix but not the -ся (-sja) reflexive ending.

Verb

edit

צעדרשענען (tsedarshenen) (past participle צעדרשענט (tsedarshent))

  1. (reflexive with זיך (zikh), ironic) to start to hold forth, to launch into a long discourse
