Etymology 2 edit

Inherited from Middle Persian 𐬠𐬎𐬑𐬙𐬆𐬥 (buxtan, to free, liberate, save), from Proto-Iranian *bauxtah, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *bʰauǰyáti, ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *bʰéwg-e-ti from the root *bhewg- (to flee). Cognate with Parthian [Term?] (/buxtan/, to free, liberate, save) and Central Kurdish بووژانەوە (būžānawa, to revive).
