Etymology

edit

Borrowed from Classical Persian بوزه (bōza, boza), a word related to بوزک (bowzak, yeast; mould), perhaps through Old Turkic [script needed] (buχsı /busï/), even though Nişanyan argues that a relation between Persian and Turkic is not apparent.

Noun

edit

بوزا (boza)

  1. boza, a fermented and sometimes alcoholic drink made from wheat or millet
