    • c. 1060, Nāṣir-i Khusraw, Safarnāma [Book of Travels]‎[1]:

I asked its guardian, "How much is the rent for this caravanserai?" He said that it used to be twenty thousand Maghrebi dinars per year, but now a part of [the building] has collapsed and is undergoing repairs, so every month a thousand dinars are paid, that is to say twelve thousand dinars [per year]. And it is said that in this city, there are two hundred caravenserais which are bigger than or of the same size as this.
