Etymology edit

Uncertain; possibly borrowed from Iranian, compare Classical Persian ژاژ (žāž, ziziphora; wild thyme), Northern Kurdish jaj (an edible herb, caraway).[1] Note also Armenian ժաժիկ (žažik, a cheese-like substance).
