لَا بَأْسَ • (lā baʔsa)
- (with بِ (bi)) it is not a problem, it is all right, it can't hurt
لَا بَأْسَ بِبَعْضِ ٱلضَّحِكِ أَحْيَانًا.- lā baʔsa bi-baʕḍi ḍ-ḍaḥiki ʔaḥyānan.
- It can’t hurt to laugh sometimes.
- (with بِ + personal suffix) a rather large (number of), quite a few
عَدَدٌ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ يُعَانُونَ مِنْ مَشَاكِلَ نَفْسِيَّةٍ.- ʕadadun lā baʔsa bihi mina n-nāsi yuʕānūna min mašākila nafsiyyatin.
- Quite a large number of people suffer from psychological problems.
لَا بَأْسَ • (lā baʔsa)
- no problem
هَل يُمْكِنُنِي ٱلتَّدْخِينُ؟ – لَا بَأْسَ.- hal yumkinunī t-tadḵīnu? – lā baʔsa.
- May I smoke? – No problem.
- (perhaps regional) Used as a wish for health and well-being.
- لَا بَأْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ! ― lā baʔsa ʕalaykum! ― All the best to you!
