From Aramaic נָנְחָא / ܢܳܢܚܳܐ (nānḥā, toothpickweed), from Akkadian 𒈾𒉌𒄷 (/⁠naniḫu⁠/, toothpickweed), which is the same Hurrian word as reflected in نَعْنَاع (naʕnāʕ, mint).
