Etymology

edit
Root
ܙ ܟ ܐ (z k ˀ)
3 terms

Borrowed from Akkadian [Term?]. This word was originally applied to being innocent in court, ie. winning the court case and being victorious against the opposition, before becoming a term generally applied to any form of victory against another. Thus, the second sense of this word, “to win”, developed from the first sense.
