Proto-Semitic *raḥat- bears the meaning of a palm, while CAL connects to Jewish Palestinian Aramaic לחיה / Jewish Literary Aramaic לִחְיָא (liḥyā, “cheek, cheekpiece”) from Proto-Semitic *liḥy- (“jaw”).
