Etymology edit

Proto-Semitic *raḥat- bears the meaning of a palm, while CAL connects to Jewish Palestinian Aramaic לחיה / Jewish Literary Aramaic לִחְיָא (liḥyā, cheek, cheekpiece) from Proto-Semitic *liḥy- (jaw).
