Usage notes edit

  • To some speakers of the Urmian dialect this word can mean both tomorrow and yesterday; this is the suggested word for tomorrow in Iraqi Koine, with ܬܸܡܵܠ (timmāl) being for yesterday.
Such speakers use the phrases ܩܘܼܕܡܹܐ ܕܥܒ݂ܝܼܪܹܗ (qudmē dˁḇīrēh, literally tomorrow that passed) and ܩܘܼܕܡܹܐ ܕܐܵܬ݂ܹܐ (qudmē d-āṯē, literally tomorrow that will come) to disambiguate.
