Root
ܬ ܦ ܩ (t p q)
1 term

Disputed:

  • Probably a denominal verb from ܬܲܦܩܘܼ (tapqū, hap, coincidence), from a metathesis of Arabic تَوافُق (tawāfuq, coincidence; agreement).
  • Alternatively suggested to be a from a variant of the verb Aramaic נְפַק (nəp̄aq), argued to be dissimilated from its Ithpalpal form אִתְנַפַק (ʾiṯnap̄aq).
