Inherited from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀕𑁄𑀝𑁆𑀞 (goṭṭha), from Sanskrit गोष्ठ (goṣṭhá). Cognate with Konkani गोटो (goṭo), Gujarati ગોઠો (goṭho).
