- (Hinduism) Name of the sister of Ravana in Ramayana.(she fell in love with राम-चन्द्र and, being rejected by him and insulted by सीता's laughter, assumed a hideous form and threatened to eat her up, but was beaten off by लक्ष्मण, who cut off her ears and nose and thus doubly disfigured her ; in revenge she incited her brother to carry off सीता)
