Borrowed from Classical Persian سوال (suwāl), variant form of سؤال (su'āl), from Arabic سُؤَال (suʔāl). Compare Gujarati સવાલ (savāl), Punjabi ਸਵਾਲ (savāl) / سوال (savāl).
