Derived from Prakrit goṭṭha, from Sanskrit गोष्ठ (goṣṭha).

కొట్టము (koṭṭamun (plural కొట్టములు)

  1. A pent roofed chamber or house as distinguished from మిద్దె which is flat-roofed.
  2. Pounding in a mortar.
  3. A stable for elephants or horses, or cattle.
  4. A kind of dance.
