Learned borrowing from Sanskrit प्रासाद (prāsāda, palace). Cognate with Khmer ប្រាសាទ (praasaat), Lao ຜາສາດ (phā sāt), Thai ปราสาท (bpraa-sàat), Mon ပြါသာတ်.
