EtymologyEdit
A simplified caduceus (☤), due to confusion with the rod of Asclepius (⚕), which is the masculine equivalent of the traditional serpent symbol of the goddess Hygieia. (The original astronomical symbol was a snake and a star; Hygieia is often represented with snakes, and her symbol may be a snake or a snake drinking from a bowl.)
