달래 무침삼겹살

Etymology

edit

First attested in the Hunmong jahoe (訓蒙字會 / 훈몽자회), 1527, as Middle Korean ᄃᆞᆯ뢰〮 (Yale: tòllwóy). Written as 月乙賴伊 (*ᄃᆞᆯ뢰, *tollwoy) in Hyangyak Jipseongbang (1433), and as 月乙老 in Hyangyak Gugeupbang (1245).

Further back, this was thought to be represented by 紫布 *tolpwo(y), in the song Henhwaka 獻花歌 collected in the Samguk yusa and associated with the reign of King Seongdeok of Silla (702–732).
