Etymology edit

Coined at 1527 as 池末 in Hunmongjahoe(訓蒙字會, Introductions of the Letters for Youth), written by Choe Sejin. Each Sino-korean letter is used only for showing Korean pronunciation, as Middle Sino-korean (디, di) has the initial in its pronunciation, and the meaning of (Middle Korean 귿(geud)) has the final ㄷ.
