From an earlier *tayo, from Ashokan Prakrit 𐨟𐨿π¨ͺ𐨩𐨆 (trayo, nominative), from Sanskrit ΰ€€ΰ₯ΰ€°ΰ€―ΰ€Έΰ₯ (trΓ‘yas)[1] (see ΰ€€ΰ₯ΰ€°ΰ€Ώ (trΓ­)). Cognate with Pali tayo. Related to 𑀒𑀺𑀑𑁆𑀑𑀺 (tiαΉ‡αΉ‡i).
