- A nominal suffix deriving terms for a particular facility or place for some determined purpose, mostly for drinks. No longer productive,
- ლუდი (ludi, “beer”) + -ხანა (-xana) → ლუდხანა (ludxana, “alehouse, beer pub”)
- ყავა (q̇ava, “coffee”) + -ხანა (-xana) → ყავახანა (q̇avaxana, “coffee house”)
- ჩაი (čai, “tea”) + -ხანა (-xana) → ჩაიხანა (čaixana, “teahouse, tea shop”)
- ზარაფი (zarapi, “money changer or lender”) + -ხანა (-xana) → ზარაფხანა (zarapxana, “place where money changers and lenders did their business”)

Words like ქარხანა (karxana, “factory”), ჯაბახანა (ǯabaxana, “arsenal”), ჰარამხანა (haramxana, “harem”) and შაშხანა (šašxana, “rifle”) also contain this morpheme, and they can also be broken down into parts, with the words such as *ქარ- (*kar-) "work" (in Persian) , *ჯაბა- (*ǯaba-) "container" (in Persian), *ჰარამ- (*haram-) harem (in Arabic) or *შაშ- (*šaš-) "Six" (in Turkish) that do not exist in Georgian as separate words in the given forms.
