From Middle Korean 로〮소〮ᅌᅵ다〮 (-lwóswóngìtá), through 로쇠 (-lwoswoy), ㄹ쇠 (-lswoy). Ultimately a combination of Middle Korean suffixes 롯〮 (-lwós-, emotive suffix) +‎ ᄋᆞ〮ᅌᅵ (-óngì-, politeness suffix) +‎ 다〮 (tá, declarative suffix).
