Gikun word derived by applying Chinese-derived spelling 美貌 (“beautiful looks/appearance”), a term which decomposes into 美 (“beautiful”) + 貌 (“looks/appearance”), to native Japanese word うつくしさ (utsukushisa, “beauty”) to denote beauty of countenance.
