Borrowed from German Bollenhut.

Bollenhut (plural Bollenhuts)
- A formal headdress with woollen pompoms, worn since about 1750 by Protestant women as part of their folk costume in the three neighbouring Black Forest villages of Gutach, Kirnbach and Hornberg-Reichenbach.
