Corinthian bronze (uncountable)

  1. A hard valuable metal alloy in classical antiquity, of uncertain composition, thought to have been an alloy of copper with gold and/or silver involving heat treatment and quenching, but perhaps only a very high grade of bronze.
    Synonym: Corinthian brass
  2. Impudent self-assurance; effrontery.
