Colon and space after "caption" parameter edit

Automatic syllable count edit
@CodeCat, the automatic syllable count feature is great, but is there a way to turn it off manually in some cases (for example, by using |nocat=1)? For example, it is generally not regarded as good practice to insert a hyphen where a single letter would be pushed to the next line, so in such cases that syllable would not be hyphenated which would lead to an incorrect syllable count. — SMUconlaw (talk) 07:47, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
Also, I happened to notice that venire facias de novo is appearing as a six-syllable "word" when it is actually four words and contains more than six syllables. It appears that this module doesn't work well when an entry consists of more than one word. — SMUconlaw (talk) 08:02, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
@CodeCat Here's an example of an entry where the automatic syllable count feature gets it wrong: symbolism. This word is probably best hyphenated "sym·bol·ism" (rather than "sym·bo·li·sm" or "sym·bol·i·sm" because it is odd to have sm by itself on the next line), but that means the module would detect the word as having three rather than four syllables. Here's a thought: could there be a parameter like |syllables=3 to manually override the automatic count? — SMUconlaw (talk) 15:15, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

Ridiculous syllabification in Portuguese edit
@Benwing2, your latest change to make syllabification determined by IPA is yielding ridiculous or inconsistent results, making the categories completely useless. For instance, dezanove is now labelled as both a 4-syllable and a 2-syllable word. On the other hand, since Module:pt-pronunc ignores the fact the dropped final e actually reduces one syllable, cidade is always shown has being a three syllable word. If the point is to syllabify by pronunciation, then surely cidade should also be a 2-syllable word in EP. - Sarilho1 (talk) 14:00, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
