Proto-Brythonic edit

Etymology edit

From the oblique stem *rīg- of Proto-Celtic *rīxs. The inherited nominative singular form would presumably have given *rix (possibly attested in the name Uindiorix), and the plural form *riɣ. Evidently the former was analogically replaced.

Pronunciation edit

Noun edit

*rriɣ m

  1. king
