Probably cognate with Avestan 𐬯𐬗𐬀𐬥𐬛𐬀𐬌𐬌𐬈𐬌𐬥𐬙𐬌 (scandaiieinti, they destroy), 𐬯𐬐𐬆𐬥𐬛𐬀 (skənda, broken; illness), Latin scandula (shingles) (also scindula).
