Balto-Slavic *-ōˀtas?

edit

̄I see that Proto-Slavic *-atъ is listed as a descendant of Proto-Indo-European *-eh₂tos (> Proto-Balto-Slavic *-āˀtas) and indeed we have parallels:

Proto-Slavic *golvatъ (headed) : Lithuanian galvótas (clever, ingenious)
Proto-Slavic *okatъ (eyed) : Lithuanian akôtas (eyed)

However, within Baltic, there are also forms pointing towards Proto-Balto-Slavic *-ōˀtas, e.g.:

Lithuanian taukúotas (greasy), Lithuanian kraujúotas (bloody)

Not sure if these are cognate with Proto-Slavic *-atъ. For reference, the corresponding synonyms to the above examples in Slavic are:

In any case, I think it's worth pointing the parallels, if not in the official page, at least here. 5.150.99.73 15:13, 27 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
