Etymology edit

Attested as Antonius-Bank (Saint) in 1835. Compound of the name of Saint Anthony the Great and bank (law court, judicial entity). The hamlet was named after the Maastricht monastery of the Hospital Brothers of Saint Anthony, which formerly owned the hamlet.
