Rfv-sense An entity (e. g. a person) always knowing the latest news and happy to share it with you.

I'm familiar with the first sense (The latest scoop, information or news.), but I've never heard 411 being used to refer to the person/thing giving the news. I also think this definition reads very awkwardly, too, so could probably do with a rewrite. Theknightwho (talk) 01:14, 20 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Theknightwho: I added this sense on 2023‑06‑18. On 2023‑06‑18 I watched Obsessed (2009 film). A character describes a coworker, I’m paraphrasing, she’s a real 411 in the office, meaning she can’t keep a secret. I don’t have a copy of this movie to provide proper attestation. Meanwhile Equinox has added a quote. Can we settle this RfV? ‑‑Kai Burghardt (talk) 21:52, 21 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Kai Burghardt We have WT:ATTEST, so it’ll need three cites. Theknightwho (talk) 21:54, 21 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
The exact quote from Obsessed (2009) is as follows (at about 20:50):
LISA: I bet you know more about what happens behind these closed doors than anybody.
PATRICK: Sweetie, you have no idea. My nickname around here is 411.
I don't think this supports the sense. This, that and the other (talk) 02:33, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I agree that the quotation given here doesn't support that sense. —DIV (1.145.8.61 12:44, 28 August 2023 (UTC))Reply
