@This, that and the other The concept 'Tibetan Plateau', with that spelling especially, surely could not predate the 18th century. An etymology here might tell us when this concept was first coined (who realized there was a plateau?), or whether this term was translated from another language into English, etc. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 12:17, 31 August 2021 (UTC)
- From Google Books, this spelling/naming for this concept seems to originate in mid-19th century English 184518611870 18761880 long-term, I plan to find a more exact date or period as I accumulate references for this word and its related concepts and variant forms. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 14:40, 31 August 2021 (UTC)
