be all ears and all ears
Merge. Canonicalization (talk) 10:45, 13 January 2020 (UTC)
- Be not essential to the idiom. Other copulas work, eg, seem, appear, become. DCDuring (talk) 05:19, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
- Redirect be all ears to all ears. --Lambiam 19:56, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
- Redirect as above. Even ignoring instances where it’s preceded by a form of seem/become/appear, there are at least three clear instances where all ears isn’t preceded by a form of be on GoogleBooks ([1],[2],[3]), though many more where it is, so this proposal seems logical. --Overlordnat1 (talk) 23:40, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
- Done. Merged the translations, but a few remain as I don't understand them. GreyishWorm (talk) 23:50, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
