Talk:bonne continuation

This isn't "good going"? --Connel MacKenzie 22:59, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

From what I gather, bonne continuation is a sort of encouragement to say to someone meaning "I wish good luck with continuing" or "Have a good continue". My French-English dictionaries (even the massive €50 one in the office) have vague translations (all the best is the best they give). Much like there's no real snappy one-to-one translation for bon voyage or bon appétit, keep it up sounds pretty good to me. --Keene 23:17, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
"Bonne continuation" is typically used in formal situations where you do not expect to see the other person again. Typically, it is something a professor, headmaster, or unfamiliar older adult would say to a student to wish them success in their future endeavors. "good going" is not right, "all the best" is better but less specific. --A3nm (talk) 22:11, 18 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps "best of luck". Equinox 22:16, 18 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
