Talk:down to
would to go be a synonym? --Backinstadiums (talk) 19:47, 19 March 2020 (UTC)
All the way to a minimum
editThe wiktionary entry for up to lists two meanings related to counting up, the first being the use “up to that point” which includes all of time up until a certain moment is reached, and the other being “a fine of up to X dollars” which includes all numerical values counting all the way up until the maximum of X.
The entry for down to however lists no meaning related to counting down. There exists at least the use “down to the last detail” which includes all items of a hierarchy of broad things at the top and minute things at the bottom. Though I cannot find for the life of me any example to quote, the expression “down to X” to mean “including any, all the way down until the minimum of X” is one of the meanings I have seen this word used. 85.31.132.229 15:09, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
