Shouldn't the second definition have its label changed from UK to "everywhere except North America"? The Wikipedia article correctly states that this form of the game is played in Europe, Asia and Australasia.. SemperBlotto 21:54, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- I agree. It is bizarre that the entry insists on providing incorrect usage information. Nowhere outside of North America does "hockey" (at least the English word) refer to ice hockey.
- If invite an Australian, a South African, a Brit, a Scot, a Welshman, a New Zealander and an Irishman to a "hockey" game, and then direct them to an ice rink, every one of them will look at you as if you're crazy. 2001:8003:904B:7501:5A6:3571:106:6C0B 17:37, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

Webster 1913 says it can also be hookey or hawkey. Never seen 'em myself. Probably archaic. Equinox ◑ 23:19, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
