Questions edit

  1. Shouldn't this identify the greeting form also?
  2. Is this use endemic to a specific region?

The greeting is not usually (ever?) hyphenated. Equinox 15:54, 8 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

alt spelling edit

We should probably also have the alternate spelling how-de-do, at least as a redirect, as in the following from Gilbert and Sullivan's Mikado Here's a how-de-do! If I marry you, When your time has come to perish, Then the maiden whom you cherish Must be slaughter'd too! Here's a how-de-do! Here's a how-de-do!

Sense: the greeting. I've never seen it hyphenated. Equinox 15:54, 8 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
