Page for plural

edit

Should there be a separate page for jellies ? If not, why have it as a link ?

In wikis like this, it is customary to leave "red links" like that as an indicator of work to be done. Note that the standard plural page for "jellies" has been created since your question (thanks, SemperBlotto). Rodasmith 15:55, 10 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Definition (noun)

edit

I've combined definitions 2 and 3, as they are the same. I think the existing situation has arisen because #2 is indicated as an americanism. This is incorrect and 'jelly', in the context of a fruit preserve, is in common use in English speaking countries to describe a translucent preserve made from juice extracted by straining fruit, and set using either naturally occurring, or added, pectin.[1] [2] [3]

Also, in definition 2, use of the word 'gelatinous' might be seen to imply the inclusion of gelatine.

Also, also, definition 3 is incorrect. In the UK (as in the US) 'jelly' is not made from jam that has been sieved, but from the juice of sieved fruit'. 92.1.134.186 21:24, 19 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Use on the Internet

What does it mean when Internet people say, "I'm so jelly"?

It's slang for jealous. Equinox 12:46, 18 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
