Minor update to 350bot
editHi - if you haven't done it already, could you please update 350bot to use "hanzi" instead of "Han character" when adding Chinese entries? I noticed quite recent additions like 𫲉, so I assume you'll be doing it again in the future. Thanks. Theknightwho (talk) 16:20, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
りょうしょう
editDo you have attestations for any of the terms you added here? I removed the ones where りょうしょう was not given as a pronunciation or where there was simply no Japanese term (as opposed to Chinese term) given. Either add the Japanese meanings or remove them from りょうしょう. TE(æ)A,ea. (talk) 19:51, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- They are derived from listings in major Japanese monolingual dictionaries: https://www.weblio.jp/content/りょうしょう
- Although the lack of a
{{rfdef}}
on the existing entry is poor formatting, and the lack of full entries is unfortunate, I oppose simply removing them instead of continuing to list them in{{ja-see}}
(cf. [1]); they are clearly obscure terms of lesser importance, not hoaxes. —Fish bowl (talk) 20:51, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
Why is this page still in that category?
editWhen I was creating the page "出音味來", I copied the page style of the page "啤酒燒烤" for reference. After I had copied that, I forgot to delete the last row of the code whose outcome was to include the page to the category "Mandarin terms derived through romanized wordplay". Today I found the page "出音味來" appeared in the category "Mandarin terms derived through romanized wordplay" and I went to delete the last row of the code to remove the page from that category. But the page, whose title is the simplified form, "出音味来", has not been removed from that category. How to remove this page from that category? --NasalCavityRespiratory (talk) 14:20, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
- It might take a while for the change to propagate naturally, but if you want to remove it immediately, you can open the edit page for 出音味来 and click "save" without changing anything to force the server to refresh. —Fish bowl (talk) 20:19, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
What does pronoun missing part of speech mean exactly?
editYou added some of the pages I created to the category but I don't know what that means or why so many entries (especially single character entries) are in there Dengzeren08 (talk) 17:54, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Dengzeren08 Template:zh-pron is the pronunciation (not pronoun) template, and it categorizes words into "Chinese lemmas", "Chinese nouns", "Cantonese lemmas", "Cantonese nouns", "Wu lemmas", "Wu nouns", etc. because that's where the Cantonese/Wu/etc. information (
|c= |w=
) is given. The single character entries are in there because no one cares enough to give/verify a definition and determine the correct part-of-speech. —Fish bowl (talk) 22:33, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
What kind of phonetic symbols is used here?
editThe phonetic symbols used at these two places seem to be different from IPA.
- In the page bước: "Tho [Cuối Chăm] pɐːk⁸", there is a small number "8" after "k".
- In the page dưới: "From Proto-Vietic *-taːlʔ, from Proto-Mon-Khmer *kt₁aal", in "*kt₁aal", there is a small number "1" after "t", and "a" is doubled.
It seems to be somewhat different from IPA. So what kind of phonetic symbols is used here? --NasalCavityRespiratory (talk) 11:57, 8 October 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I don't know anything about Vietic or Mon-Khmer. You should ask User talk:PhanAnh123 instead. —Fish bowl (talk) 23:24, 8 October 2024 (UTC)
- @NasalCavityRespiratory: w:Vietnamese_phonology#Tone uses the same or similar tone notation. The work is done by this module: Module:vi-pron. Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 02:13, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
