Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk (discussion) and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the beer parlour or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!--Dvortygirl 07:03, 9 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Telugu

edit

Thank you for entering some Telugu words which we badly need. It would also be a big help if you could write them in Roman letters, since most of us can’t read the Telugu alphabet. For example, *Telugu: సంచి (samca). —Stephen 11:19, 10 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sure! —Veeven 11:33, 10 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Language templates

edit

Hi there. There has been a good deal of discussion about this matter, most of which I can't find back of course :-). This seems to be the most recent discussion. You could also do some search in the Beer parlour archives for further ramblings. Personally, I'd say that the ordering of languages is the main argument, beside the fact that templates like these are in general confusing for newbies and anons, who are the main contributors in the translations section. — Vildricianus 20:37, 23 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Months and Days

edit

Hi. Would you mind having a look at the Appendices for Appendix:Months of the Year and Appendix:Days of the Week and be sure that both pages include the appropriate Telugu entries? Also, some of these basic entries may be missing from Wiktionary. Kappa has already helped to created the Korean ones, and I've been looking for others to help in additional languages. Thanks for whatever help you can provide. --EncycloPetey 16:43, 29 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sure, I'll include Telugu entires. --Veeven 16:48, 29 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Units of Time

edit

Hello again, and thanks for filling in the Telugu months of the year! It's so nice to see this information finally showing up on Wiktionary. Second, could you help fill in the Telugu information on Appendix:Units of time? If you know of people who could help fill in more Asian languages, that would be great! --EncycloPetey 12:04, 3 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Units of time are done. I'll try to convince some of my friends who can fill in some Indian Languages.--Veeven 14:08, 3 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
