Proposal: I hereby propose Ortonmc be desysoped without prejudice. His last edit was 24 April 2007 (and no deleted edits are later, though I can't speak for oversighted ones). Our past discussions (for other sysops) have decided on a one-year-no-edits rule for desysoping, with quick reinstatement on return. The desysoping is to prevent havoc in case of access to the account by someone not the sysop, and does not reflect lack of faith in the actual user by the community. Moreover, Ortonmc's last edit (again, not including any possible oversighted edits) was agreeing to be desysoped. (Based on that agreement, I would have just taken this straight to m:SRP, but a steward told me we should have this vote first.)—msh210℠18:18, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ortonmc has been a sysop already, and this desysop is without prejudice. The only reason I see for discussion before resysoping is to ensure that user really is Ortonmc and not someone who's gained access to his account. (The latter is unlikely anyway, and) I'm not sure that that would require a vote. (No harm in having one, though (unless by that point in time we've "progressed" to WP-style admin votes, in which case avoidance of one will be a good idea).) But we can cross that bridge if and when.—msh210℠17:48, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Support Although I am new here and not sure my vote will count, I do not believe that Ortonmc would be a positive for the project with the sysop bit if he hasn't edited in over 2 years. Shappy20:13, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
