- A kind of French hoe.
- 1869, William Robinson, The parks, promenades & gardens of Paris described and considered in relation to the wants of our own cities and of public and private gardens, page 568:
- THE BINETTE. — This is a handy implement that I think would prove more useful for stirring the earth between crops than anything we employ. It serves as a draw hoe, and the forked portion is very efficient in loosening hard ground.
