- 1830, G. R. Clarke, The History and Description of the Town and Borough of Ipswich:
- The church was new built since the year 1448; for Richard Gowty , by his will that year made , ordered his body to be buried in the churchyard of St. Mary at the Key , in Ipswich , and gave Calyon stone for the whole church
