Inherited from Old French desclore. By surface analysis, dé- +‎ clore. May also correspond to Latin discludere. [1] (through a Vulgar Latin form *disclaudō, disclaudere. Compare Occitan desclaure, Catalan descloure, Italian dischiudere, Romanian deschide.
