From Ottoman Turkish اڭ آزدن (eñ azdan),[1][2] from اڭ () and آز (az),[3][4] equivalent to en (superlative particle) +‎ az (little, few) +‎ (possessive suffix) +‎ -(n)dan (ablative suffix with "n" as buffer consonant), literally from the littlest/fewest.
