Declension
editOld Norse
editEtymology
editContraction of an early compound of fé (“cattle”) and hús (“house”).
However, Noreen denies this because of the nasalisation in Elfdalian, and reconstructs a compound of fé and the descendant of Proto-Germanic hansō (“group”).[1]
