floor piano (plural floor pianos)

  1. A large, flat novelty electronic piano-style keyboard played by stepping on the keys.

      String instruments such as a guitar, ukulele, autoharp, a folk harp, and a small violin provide exploration with vibrating strings, and electronic keyboards and a floor piano give children experience on keyboards.
    • 2008, David Smiedt, Are We There Yet?: Chasing a Childhood Through South Africa:
      One of the items on display was a floor piano on which I played a swinging version of "When the Saints Go Marching In" and was rewarded with spontaneous ambivalence from those around me.
