frog hair (usually uncountable, plural frog hairs)

  1. (golf) The closely mown grass that surrounds a putting green, between the putting surface and any rough that might also surround the green.

  2. (US, politics, slang) Money contributed to a campaign.
    • 1974, Time, volume 103, page 29:
      Disturbingly, many of the plaque owners were contractors or architects who stood to benefit from making political contributions — "frog hair," as such funds are known locally.
    • 1975, Fred R. Harris, The New Populism, page 15:
      The great old political wizard who managed the Turner campaign, H. W. "Coach" McNeil, would call the young man into his office each morning and hand him a draft to be cashed at the bank.
